More than ever, business continuity is a major preoccupation for organizations, generally embodied in Business Continuity Plans (BCPs), essential tools for preventing and containing disasters, and for taking action when they do occur, via Disaster Recovery Plans (DRPs). Most BCP managers recognize that choices have been made in the past, without any updating, and sometimes without any real consultation with the organization's various managers. It therefore seems necessary that BCPs be drawn up and updated in a way that is adapted to contextualized situations and the resulting continuity objectives. This is the aim of ISO 22301, which describes the Management Business Continuity System (or BCS) through organizational governance, monitoring and continuous improvement, with the aim of preparing, providing and maintaining the means of control and capabilities to manage an organization's overall ability to continue operating during disruptions.
